Michael Sainsbury

Partner

Michael joined the firm in 1985 and was admitted into practice in 1985. In 1992 Michael was made a Partner.

Michael has practised law for over 30 years. His principal areas of practice are conveyancing, wills and estate planning, estate administration, commercial and retail leases, and sales of business. Michael’s conveyancing experience has included strata, rural, off-the-plan and retirement contracts. His understanding of Australian taxation law including stamp duty and capital gains tax allows his clients to plan with confidence.

Michael’s experience and attentiveness continually benefits his clients by allowing him to provide superior advice and outcomes.The majority of Michael’s clients are returning clients or clients who have been referred to him by existing clients who have had positive experiences.

Michael has a Bachelor of Law and a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Sydney.

Qualification: B.Ec and LL.B

David Tebbutt

Partner

David joined the firm in late 2018 and was admitted to practice in 2019 after completing a law degree with first class honours from the University of Technology.

David’s areas of practice include Commercial Law, Property Law, Litigation, Family Provision Claims, Estate Law and Alternate Dispute Resolution. David is best known for his empathetic and client focused approach. Prior to switching lanes to law, David had a long successful career in NGO management and church ministry. David’s demonstrated legal acumen and his conscientious approach to his work perpetuates the Tebbutt tradition and has quickly established him as a highly valued new member of the team.

Charlotte He

Graduate Solicitor

Charlotte joined the firm and was admitted to practise in 2023.

Since her admission, Charlotte’s practice area has focused on conveyancing and estate administration.

Charlotte is known for her empathetic, practical, and outcome-oriented approach. Charlotte has experience in conveyancing matters, obtaining stamp duty concessions, and estate administration.

Charlotte has a Juris Doctor from the University of Sydney and a Bachelor of Business Administration (Applied Economics) from Hong Kong Baptist University.

Nyree Deirmendjian

Consultant

Nyree was admitted to practice in 1996. She joined the firm in 2003 and became a Partner in 2012.

Nyree has over 25 years of experience and expertise as a family law practitioner and her practice includes divorce, property settlement and parenting matters. She acts for clients in married, de facto and same sex relationships. Nyree also undertakes general litigation work.  She is also a longstanding volunteer solicitor at the Inner City Legal Centre in Darlinghurst.

Nyree adopts a sensible and pragmatic approach to provide accurate and realistic advice to her clients. She acknowledges that all clients have different issues and require tailor made solutions and she is focused on achieving optimal outcomes for her clients. Where appropriate, Nyree will explore alternate dispute resolution including informal and formal settlement discussions, negotiation and mediation before commencement of court proceedings. Nyree has considerable experience in family law court matters and general litigation and she regularly appears in the Commonwealth and State Courts.

Jennifer Gordon

Consultant

Jennifer joined the firm in 1991 and was admitted into practice in 1992. In 2001 Jennifer was made a Partner before transitioning to Consultant in 2022.

Jennifer has practised almost extensively in Family Law, and she oversees the Family Law section of the firm. Having over 25 years’ experience as a Family Law Practitioner, Jennifer prides herself on her approach to resolve client’s disputes. Jennifer has a heightened capacity to identify the issues that are necessary to pursue to achieve the best possible outcome for her clients.

Jennifer is a skilful practitioner who can navigate a sensible course for her clients during their difficult times. Jennifer uses her best endeavours to resolve all matters by way of negotiation and mediation, as opposed to resorting to litigation. Jennifer adopts a conciliatory manner when resolving disputes where possible. Jennifer is also trained as a Collaborative Lawyer.

If a matter does proceed to Court, Jennifer has vast experience in the Courtroom. Jennifer communicates well with her clients and is able to provide a supportive environment for them without compromising her professionalism and objectivity. Jennifer’s areas of expertise include FamilyLaw, including divorce, property settlement, spousal maintenance, parenting matters, child support and collaborative law. Jennifer also has considerable experience in other areas including wills, probate and estate administration

George Gordon

Consultant

George joined the firm in 1956 and was admitted to practice in 1957 after completing a Bachelor of Law at the University of Sydney.

George has been with the firm for over 50 years and was the managing Partner of the firm for over 20 years. His areas of expertise include Conveyancing, Wills, Estate Planning and Probate. George retired from the firm in 2006, but continues to work as a Consultant to the firm.
